A Successful Village Feast! Thank you to all our Village Feast 2010 generous sponsors and volunteers! The event was a huge success, bringing in over $20,000 for Davis Farm to School in support of school gardens, local, seasonal produce in school lunch, lunch waste recycling and second grade farm visits. Slow Food Yolo and Davis Farm to School co-sponsored the event, attended by over 300 guests, sponsors and community members, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed the three-course family style meal prepared and served by Buckhorn Catering with food sourced from the Davis Farmer's Market. The meal was mouth-watering, from the heirloom tomato salad, to the grilled vegetables, potatoes and boiled farm-fresh eggs with garlic aioli, to the grilled local lamb with herbs and finally the rustic stone fruit tart for dessert. The Silent Auction boasted very unique items this year, from dinner at Darrell Corti's house, to cheese making lessons to a tour of local Corto Olive Oil Mill. The weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all. We are looking forward to next year's Village Feast on August 27, 2011!
