Make wood-fired oven pizzas with your kids
From grain to bread. . .
The aroma of a warm loaf of bread, fresh from the oven, is one clue that something amazing has happened when yeast, flour and liquid were formed into a springy, kneaded dough and then shaped to make breads, rolls, or even . . . pizza crusts! We use the journey of whole wheat grains to yummy pizza pies to illustrate our everyday connections of farms and food in this family-friendly activity. Check out our events section and see the summary schedule to find out where you and your children can make some homemade pizzas in a wood-fired oven at Davis Farm to School's Grain to Bread days. Contact us if you would like to volunteer at one of these events.
Don't have a wood-fired oven at home? Did you know you can make pizza on your gas grill?
